Serengeti National Park
This is the ultimate park for safari experience, it is every visitors desire to see the “land of endless plains” as it is known by the nomadic Masaai who are found here. Serengeti covers an area of 14,760sq km. It is famed for the annual wildebeest migration and its wildlife density. The landscape can roughly be divided into short grass plains and woodland area. There is a common misconception that during the annual migration in late July, the park is virtually empty. In fact, the “migration” typically involves wildebeests and a couple of hundred zebras. Therefore, when the migration is over, there is a lot of resident wildlife to be seen and photographed.
How to get to Serengeti:
It is a 6-7 hour journey by road or you can fly to any one of several airstrips in Serengeti (several flights daily).
What to do:
Game drive, balloon ride, see the kopjes (rock outcroppings), walking safari and night game drives outside the park.
